The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recently announced that Duke associate head coach Shawn Wilbourn was voted the Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year for the Southeast region.
Shawn Wilbourn will be entering his 7th season with the Blue Devils and, along with being the associate head coach for the Duke Track and Field program, he is also in charge of the combined events, pole vaults, sprints, and hurdles. This year, Wilbourn had three student-athletes advance to the 2015 NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in juniorMegan Clark and freshmanMadison Heath competing in the women’s pole vault and redshirt juniorTeddiMaslowski in the women’s heptathlon.
