PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Duke’s doubles pair of senior Beatrice Capra and freshman Ellyse Hamlin saw its run in the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships main draw come to an end Friday afternoon in Pacific Palisades, Calif., after suffering an 8-4 defeat against Georgia’s 20th-ranked pair of Ellen Perez and Mariana Gould. Friday’s loss is the first of the season for the Duke tandem, which owns a record of 8-1 in 2015.
Capra and Hamlin, the 39th-ranked doubles team in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) preseason poll, posted strong play to reach the quarterfinal round of the main doubles draw at this year’s tournament.
