PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Duke’s doubles pair of senior Beatrice Capra and freshman Ellyse Hamlin continued its strong play Wednesday, advancing to the doubles main draw of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. With two victories on the day, the tandem improved to a perfect 6-0 on the year.
Capraand Hamlinonce again opened the day with a victory, downing Wichita State’s team of Rebecca Pedrazzi and Aleksandra Trifunovic, 8-5. The Duke paired returned to the doubles courts and defeated Fresno State’s 38th-ranked duo of Maiar Sherif Ahmed and Rana Sherif Ahmed to secure a spot in the main draw of the doubles competition.
