LIMA, Peru – 2018 Duke fencing graduate Pascual Di Tella captured silver in sabre at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. The Pan Am Games is one of the largest sporting events in the world with more than 6,000 athletes from 40+ nations competing in 39 sports.
Di Tella, a product of Vincente Lopez, Buenos Aires, Argentina, started off just 1-5 in pool play before making his way through the draw en route to the final bout.
In the Table of 16, Di Tella defeated Joseph Polossifakis of Canada (15-12) before his 15-14 defeat over 2018 Senior World silver medalist Eli Dershwitz of USA in the Table of 8.
