DURHAM – Duke Athletics has announced that wrestling's Josh Finesilver and softball's Deja Davis have been named the senior male and female student-athletes of the year.
The duo joins a storied past of Duke student-athletes that have been recognized by the university for pairing athletic success with excellence in the classroom.
Davis first made waves as the first All-American in program history and has continued to be a key piece of the softball program that has reached its first NCAA Super Regional in program history. Davis remains the program's all-time leader in batting average and triples and was a big factor in the Blue Devils' regional success, with a home run against Liberty and hits in all four games.
