DURHAM – No. 11 Duke softball (31-8, 10-5 ACC) recorded its second combined no-hitter this season and third in program history on Monday when it defeated Elon (14-20, 8-3 CAA), 4-0, at Duke Softball Stadium.
Junior Claire Davidson and freshman Sophie Garner-MacKinnon combined to shut out the Phoenix after allowing just four runners to reach base on two walks and two errors. Duke's first joint no-hitter on the year came in game two of a doubleheader with Charleston Southern on Feb. 22. Monday's performance by Davidson marked her second combined no-no as she was also part of the program's first combined no-hitter in an effort with Shelby Waters against NC State in 2021.
