Duke basketball must ensure Countdown to Craziness is no dud this go-round.
Without Duke basketball’s Cameron Crazies on hand, there’s really no point in the program putting on a 2020-21 Countdown to Craziness at all, right? Wrong.
For one, the annual event provides a way to rev up the fanbase while also formally introducing all the new additions, which there are seven of this year (six freshmen plus one grad transfer).
Furthermore, it’s a major recruiting tool. And though recruits cannot take official visits this season until January at the earliest, they are sure to either tune in via some ESPN channel to catch the action or check out the official Duke basketball social media accounts for highlights of the players dancing, scrimmaging, and whatnot.
