DURHAM, N.C. – Duke senior Caitlin Cosme has been named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week, after helping the Blue Devils earn a 3-0 shutout win at UNCW on Saturday.
Cosme played 79 minutes on the back end, as Duke limited the Seahawks to just one shot the entire match. The fifth-ranked Blue Devils posted their sixth shutout victory of the 2020-21 season.
A native of New Hyde Park, N.Y., Cosme also displayed her offensive capabilities in the win, as she registered her fourth goal of the season and her first career assist.
