DURHAM – For the first time in school history, a Duke women's soccer standout has been recognized as a MAC Hermann Trophy finalist as the United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) announced Blue Devil sophomore Michelle Cooper was one of three finalists on Thursday.
The finalists along with Cooper are Korbin Albert of Notre Dame and Jenna Nighswonger of Florida State.
The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer and has been awarded annually since 1967.
Cooper turned in the best overall season in NCAA Division I soccer in 2022 with 49 points, 19 goals and 11 assists.
