Box Score WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A seven-run eighth inning highlighted Duke's comeback bid, but it wasn't enough as the Blue Devils fell to Wake Forest, 16-11, on Sunday afternoon at David F. Couch Ballpark in Winston-Salem.
Wake Forest (25-7, 9-6 ACC) jumped out to an 8-0 lead through three innings. The Blue Devils (13-19, 3-12 ACC) continually chipped away at the Demon Deacons' lead late, but the hosts answered with runs of their own in each bottom frame of the inning.
Senior RJ Schreck and sophomore Alex Stone led Duke offensively.
