DURHAM – Senior libero Mackenzie Cole was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year and tabbed second team All-ACC, as announced by the league office Monday.
Cole becomes just the third player in program history to garner the ACC Defensive Player of the Year accolade alongside Sasha Karelov (2016) and Ali McCurdy (2011, 2012, 2013). Her All-ACC nod is the second of her career.
Cole has cemented herself as one of Duke's top defensive specialists during her time as a Blue Devil. She is ranked 30th on the NCAA active career leaders list with 1,664 career digs as the lone ACC member in the top 50.
