RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – In her first attempt to obtain her LPGA Tour card, recent Duke University alumna Sandy Choi moved past stage one of LPGA Qualifying school as she placed tied 79th at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Choi, a product of Seoul, South Korea, carded rounds of 74, 71, 69 and 77 to finish three-over-par, 291. The three-time All-ACC selection with the Blue Devils now moves on to stage two of qualifying, which will take place Oct. 16-22 at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla.
If Choi were to advance on past stage two, the final stage will be held Nov.
