PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Freshman Meible Chi picked up her sixth straight win this fall en route to earning a spot in the qualifying draw of the 2016 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships held in Pacific Palisades, Calif. With the victory Sunday afternoon, Chi is scheduled to open qualifying action Tuesday.
Chi, after winning consecutive matches one day earlier in the pre-qualifying singles draw, downed Winthrop’s Lauren Proctor, 7-6 (1), 6-0. Chi opened the competition Saturday with wins over Arkansas’ Shannon Hudson and Ohio State’s 99th-ranked Miho Kowase.
In addition to Chi’s competition out west, senior Alyssa Smith also concluded play at the three-day Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.
