DURHAM, N.C. – Junior Kelly Chen earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NCAA Division I All-American honors, as announced by the organization Tuesday.
This year, All-American status was based on the unpublished, double run of ITA singles and doubles rankings. 20 singles players and 10 doubles teams received the accolade.
Chen garners the award for the third straight year as a junior, finishing the year ranked No. 7 in the nation before the remaining season was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
The Cerritos, Calif., native went 7-1 in dual match play in singles action since the start of the spring season in January and played to an undefeated 3-0 record in ACC matches.
