Former Clemson Tiger and Duke Blue Devil quarterback Chase Brice is now leaving Duke and the ACC for Appalachian State.
It’s not a bad choice.
App State has arguably been the most consistently successful football program in the state over the last 30 years and is the only team in the state that we’re aware of that has won national championships at any level.
It’s also, we’re quite sure, the only program in this state that has won in the Big House, famously upsetting Michigan in 2007. It even gets a Wikipedia entry.
He’ll get a chance there to direct a very good football team and if he excels, he’ll likely get some NFL attention.
