DURHAM, N.C. – In the first of numerous upgrades planned for Cameron Indoor Stadium in the coming years, the Duke University Office of Information Technology (OIT) has completed cellular and Wi-Fi enhancements at the historic venue that will provide a more robust mobile experience for end users.
OIT worked with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint to install a distributed antenna system (DAS) that provides two sectors of LTE coverage for each carrier that are exclusive to Cameron Indoor Stadium and cover the entirety of the venue. Prior to the enhancements, cellular coverage at Cameron was provided by the towers on campus and was not adequate for game days.
