DURHAM, N.C. – Duke freshman defender Chelsea Burns was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week Wednesday, after registering her first two career goals in a victory over the weekend against NC State.
Burns, who hails from Jacksonville, Fla., totaled the first two goals of the match coming up from her defender position as the Blue Devils went on to take down the Wolfpack, 5-0, on senior day. She helped the Blue Devil defense limit the Wolfpack to only three shots and earned its 11th shutout of the season, which ties for the lead in the ACC.
