GUILDFORD, England – Duke women’s lacrosse alumna Sarah Bullard took home Most Valuable Player honors in Saturday’s Federation of International Lacrosse World Cup title game. The 2011 Blue Devil graduate led the United States to a 10-5 victory over Canada in the gold medal match, giving the U.S. its third consecutive World Cup championship.
A team co-captain making her third senior World Cup appearance, Bullard tallied a game-high three goals Saturday at Surrey Sports Park. Since joining the national team program 10 years ago, she has captured four gold medals, including an under-19 world championship in 2007 and senior World Cup titles in 2009, 2013 and 2017.
