DURHAM, N.C.— In the NCAA Tournament second round, fifth-year senior Lexie Brown swiped seven steals to break Duke’s single-season steals mark previously held by Blue Devil great Alana Beard. Following the victory, the Blue Devil Network’s Rebecca Fiorentino sat down with Brown to talk about collecting the impressive record.
Brown, the 2018 ACC Defensive Player of the Year, owns 115 steals on the season to break Beard’s mark of 114 that was set in the 2001-02 campaign. The 5-9 guard owns a 3.6 steals per game average on the year that ranks seventh nationally and is the only power five conference player to collect over 110 steals on the season.
