DURHAM, N.C. – For the 10th time over his storied coaching career, Duke University women’s golf head coach Dan Brooks has been named the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) East Region Coach of the Year, as announced Wednesday.
Brooks, who just completed his 35th campaign with the Blue Devils, led Duke to its seventh NCAA Championship last week at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark. The Blue Devils placed second in the stroke play portion of the event and then knocked off Stanford (3-2), Arizona (3-2) and Wake Forest (3-2) in match play. Brooks has guided Duke to NCAA titles in 1999, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2014 and 2019.
