Duke freshman Brandon Ingram was one of 20 players named to the preseason watch list for the 2016 Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award presented by University of Massachusetts on Tuesday in an announcement by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
The Julius Erving Award is in its second year and recognizes the top small forward in Division I men’s basketball. Ingram is one of just four freshmen and four ACC players named to the award’s preseason watch list.
Rated as the No. 3 overall recruit in the class of 2015 by ESPN, Ingram was both a McDonald’s All-American and Parade All-American, and was named to the Jordan Brand Classic game in 2015.
