DURHAM, N.C.— Recently members of the Duke women’s basketball team traveled Camp Kaleidoscope in Henderson, N.C., to spend some time with the kids.
The Blue Devils were able to play a variety of games with the campers, had a shaving cream fight and were able to make some new, special friends. Blue Devil Network staff member Rebecca Fiorentino was able to tag along for the ride and reported in on the visit.
Camp K is a residential camp for children treated at Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center. More than 1,000 children and teens with chronic and terminal illnesses -- such as brain tumors, leukemia, heart disease, asthma, and lupus -- have attended Camp K since it opened in 1979.
