ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Duke women's tennis registered a strong showing on the second day of the Michigan Invitational as the Blue Devils swept singles action at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor.
Duke dominated its individual singles matchups with Notre Dame and posted a perfect 7-0 mark against the Fighting Irish. No. 73 Georgia Drummy and No. 26 Emma Jackson picked up the first two victories of the morning for the Blue Devils, beginning with Drummy's defeat of Nibedita Ghosh 6-0, 6-3. Jackson's matchup with Carrie Beckman was a more tightly contested tilt – following a close 7-5 triumph in the first set, the two competitors battled to a 6-6 score which set up a tiebreaker to decide the final point.
