ORLANDO, Fla. – After opening the season Sunday in second place and only one shot off the lead at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, the top-ranked Duke women’s golf team slipped to fourth Monday, after turning in a three-over-par, 291, at the Reunion Resort’s 6,245-yard, par 72 Watson Course
The Blue Devils turned in an 11-under-par, 277, in the opening round and trailed Southern California by only one stroke, but after a 291 in the second round Duke trails the Trojans by 21 strokes with only 18 holes remaining. Southern California carded a 17-under-par, 271, Monday to jump out to a commanding lead.
