DURHAM – Duke women's tennis earned the No. 3 overall seed in the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships and will host the first and second rounds, the NCAA revealed Monday evening.
The reigning ACC champions will welcome Furman, Old Dominion, and Quinnipiac in the opening two rounds at Ambler Tennis Stadium beginning Friday.
"First and foremost, it is an honor and privilege to be selected to the NCAA tournament and our team definitely understands that," said head coach Jamie Ashworth. "There are 264 Women's Division I tennis programs and we know that we have to earn everything – nothing is given to us, and we have to be deserving of the opportunity.
