DURHAM - After finishing with a 20-4 ACC ledger, fifth-ranked Duke softball secured the program's first regular-season title and earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming ACC Championship, the league announced Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Devils are set to host the championship at Duke Softball Stadium, beginning Wednesday at 1 p.m.
As the No. 1 seed, the Blue Devils received a first-round bye and will play the winner of eighth-seed Syracuse and ninth-seeded Boston College on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the quarterfinals.
ACC Network and ESPN2 will provide 18 hours of live coverage of the ACC Softball Championship.
