DURHAM, N.C. —With only 11 days until the Duke women’s basketball team opens the 2018-19 campaign, the Associated Press released its preseason top 25 ranking with the Blue Devils tabbed No. 21 overall. It marks the 18th time out of the last 19 years Duke has been ranked in the preseason by the writers.
Since 2001, Duke and Notre Dame are tied for the most appearances by ACC teams in the Associated Press preseason top 25 with 17 selections.
Taking the top slot was Notre Dame with all 31 first place votes, while Connecticut, Oregon, Baylor, Louisville, Mississippi State, Stanford, Oregon State, Maryland and South Carolina rounding out the top 10 teams.
