DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women’s lacrosse team will begin the 2018 campaign ranked No. 20 in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association poll, as released by the organization Monday.
Reigning NCAA champion Maryland topped the Division I preseason rankings, followed by Stony Brook, North Carolina, Penn State and Florida. The Blue Devils were one of six ACC squads to earn a spot inside the top 20, with Boston College coming in at No. 6, Syracuse at No. 7, Virginia at No. 14 and Notre Dame at No. 15.
Nine of Duke’s 2018 opponents were listed in the initial poll, including three inside the top 10.
