DURHAM – After defeating No. 16 North Carolina for its fifth shutout of the season, Duke men's soccer has risen to a season-best ranking of No. 6 in the nation, according to the most recent United Soccer Coaches rankings.
The status is the highest ranking for the Blue Devils since Sept. 9, 2019, when the team sat at No. 2 in the country.
Duke was able to use early goals to defeat No. 16 North Carolina, 3-0, on Sunday night in Chapel Hill and shift up six spots in the national rankings. Sunday's win marked the first time the Blue Devils defeated the Tar Heels by multiple goals since a 4-0 victory on Nov.
