DURHAM, N.C. - A penalty kick goal from junior Chelsea Burns provided the game-winning tally Sunday as the Duke women's soccer team picked up its first victory of the season with a 3-1 triumph against Xavier.
The contest was tied 1-1 until the 74th minute, when Burns was taken down in the box and awarded the penalty strike.
The Muskateers struck first as Tori Doss slotted the first goal in the 14th minute. Duke evened the contest at 1-1 at the 16:17 mark, when junior Kayla McCoy converted on a pass from classmate Taylor Racioppi.
