ATLANTA, Ga. – The inaugural East Lake Cup kicked off Monday at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga., but was delayed by four hours due to inclement weather conditions. After the delay, Duke took control early and has an impressive lead over top-seeded Stanford.
Play was suspended due to darkness at 5:30 p.m., Monday as only two of the 10 matches were finished in the afternoon. The semifinal matches will resume at 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, airing live on Golf Channel.
The Blue Devils, who are seeded No. 4 overall, holds a commanding lead in three of their four matches still to be completed over 2015 National Champion Stanford, with a point already on the board courtesy of sophomore Gurbani Singh’s 3&2 win over Stanford’s Shannon Aubert.
