OPELIKA, Ala. – With a one-under-par, 287, Tuesday in the second round of the NCAA Auburn Regional at the 6,371-yard, par 72 Saugahatchee Country Club in Opelika, Ala., the top-seeded Duke women’s golf team moved into sole possession of first with 18 holes remaining.
The top six teams following Wednesday’s round will advance to the NCAA Championship May 17-22 in Fayetteville, Ark.
Duke has carded rounds of 290 and 287 for a one-over, 577, and leads by two strokes over Virginia (579). The Blue Devils (287) and Cavaliers (283) turned in the only under-par rounds of the day Tuesday.
