CLEMSON, S.C. – Sophomore Brynn King placed second in the women's pole vault and senior Leigha Torino clocked a PR time in the women's mile to highlight the first day of competition at the Tiger Paw Invite.
King cleared a height of 4.01 meters (13-1.75 feet) to record her fifth top-10 placement in five pole vault appearances this season. She was one of two competitors to reach the four-meter benchmark on Friday.
Torino's career-best mile time of 4:47.29 was good for a third-place finish. She has taken third in her past two meets after running a time of 4:51.
