DURHAM, N.C. – A three-run third inning sandwiched between a run in both the second and fourth were enough to send the Duke Blue Devils (29-23, 13-11 ACC) to a 5-1 victory Sunday afternoon, completing a sweep of the Virginia Cavaliers (12-39, 3-21 ACC) to wrap up ACC play for the inaugural season.
Jameson Kavel opened the scoring in the second with a single up the middle that drove home Reilly Metzger to make it 1-0 in favor of the Blue Devils. Duke added on three more an inning later thanks to a two-RBI triple from Raine Wilson and an RBI single from Amelia Wiercioch.
