FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Under very challenging conditions to open the NCAA Championship Friday at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark., the Duke women’s golf team carded a 13-over-par, 305, and sits fifth overall, which is only three shots off the lead through 18 holes.
Playing 6,397 yards and par 73, the golfers had to deal with gusting winds and some of the toughest conditions they have faced this season.
Both Texas and Arkansas opened action with a 10-over-par, 302, and holds the team lead through 18 holes. Stanford (304), Arizona (304), Duke (305), Southern California (306), Wake Forest (309), Arizona State (310), Washington (311) and Purdue (312) round out the top 10.
