COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Fourteenth-ranked Duke turned in a strong third quarter performance after trailing at the half, but ultimately fell to No. 2 South Carolina, 66-55, on the road Sunday.
The Blue Devils (7-2) limited the Gamecocks to just four field goals in the third period, but struggled to contain South Carolina’s A’ja Wilson down the stretch. Wilson finished with a career-high 28 points and 11 rebounds.
Duke never led in the first half, but finally broke through in the third quarter, stretching a lead to 36-31.
