DURHAM – The fourth-ranked Duke field hockey team scored a goal in three of four quarters and locked down Wake Forest en route to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Demon Deacons in ACC action Friday night on Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.
Duke extends its win streak to seven games, improving to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in ACC play. Wake Forest drops to 3-5 and 0-2 in league action.
Sophomore Alaina McVeigh continued to put her scoring prowess on display with a goal and an assist, while graduate student Mary Harkins had a pair of assists.
