Blue Devils Drop Tight Match on the Road at Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Being down two ranked student-athletes on the road at 15th-ranked Virginia, the eighth-ranked Duke women's tennis team put up a great fight against the Cavaliers, but eventually fell, 4-2, at the Virginia Tennis Complex at the Boar's Head Sports Club.

The Blue Devils played their second straight match without 78th-ranked Georgia Drummy and the first without 20th-ranked Chloe Beck due to injuries. Duke dropped to 10-4 overall and 5-3 in ACC action, while Virginia improved to 12-2 overall and 8-1 in ACC play.

In doubles action, the Blue Devils had to adjust the normal tandems due to the injuries, but Duke did not miss a beat.
