DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women’s basketball team fought hard in a defensive battle Thursday evening in Cameron Indoor Stadium, but Miami was able to pull away late in the fourth quarter to earn a 58-50 victory over the Blue Devils.
With the loss, Duke dropped to 8-8 overall and 0-4 in ACC action, while the Hurricanes improved to 15-4, 3-1.
Miami jumped out to an 11-5 lead over the first five minutes as Duke missed five out of its first six attempts from the field. With buckets by junior Leaonna Odom and freshman Miela Goodchild, the Blue Devils cut the lead to 11-9.
