DURHAM, N.C. – After opening the game with a 2-0 lead, Duke softball dropped its opening ACC contest after Notre Dame plated five runs in the fifth inning and eventually won 6-2 at the Duke Softball Stadium on Friday night.
With the loss, the Blue Devils move to 14-3 on the season and 0-1 in league play while the Fighting Irish improve to 11-5 and 1-0.
Following a quick three-up, three-down top half in the first inning, sophomore Deja Davis sparked Duke's offense with a leadoff double to left field.
