DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke and Northwestern women’s golf teams came together in Durham, N.C., Sunday, April 2 for a doubleheader match play at the Duke University Golf Club.
The two squads teed off at sunrise Sunday morning and the Blue Devils wasted no time getting off to a good start winning five of the six matches and taking a 5-1 advantage through round one. Junior Leona Maguire downed Hannah Kim, 6&5, to give Duke a 1-0 lead, but Stephanie Lau of Northwestern came back to down Virginia Elena Carta, 4&3, to even the score, 1-1.
