Blue Devils Conclude Day One at ITA All-American Championships

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Duke women's tennis program completed a rain-delayed day one at the ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday at the LTP Tennis Club.

Senior Georgia Drummy made her opening round match count, defeating Pepperdine's Shiori Fukuda, 6-1, 6-4. Drummy would cruise in the opening set, facing little adversity until Fukuda broke serve early in the second set. Drummy was able to bounce back and secure a late service break of her own to move into the round of 16.

Drummy's next opponent has yet to be determined, as rain marred the original match schedule, forcing several matches, including Drummy's, to be delayed.
