PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The fourth-ranked Duke women’s golf team closed play at the opening tournament of the 2018 campaign Tuesday afternoon in Palos Verdes Calif., with the Blue Devils turning in an eighth place finish at the 6,017-yard, par 71 Palos Verdes Golf Club.
All teams faced challenging conditions Tuesday with UCLA claiming team honors with a three-day ledger of 15-over, 867, while Alabama (871), Stanford (876), Arizona (883), Arizona State (884), Texas (885), Florida (890), Duke (893), Washington (894) and Southern California (900) rounding out the top 10 teams.
“It just wasn’t a very good day today,” commented Duke head coach Dan Brooks.
