TULSA, Okla. – The Duke men’s tennis team had its run at the Saint Francis ITA Men’s All-American Championships end on Friday as sophomore Spencer Furman and redshirt junior Nicolas Alvarez suffered second round setbacks in the singles main draw.
Furman, ranked No. 44 in the fall Oracle/ITA ledger, fell 6-1, 6-4 to No. 14 Gustav Hansson of Ole Miss. No. 34 Alvarez dropped a 6-1, 7-5 decision to UCLA’s Martin Redlicki, ranked No. 24.
In the doubles consolation draw, the No. 12 team of Furman and sophomore Nick Stachowiak lost 6-1, 6-4 Chema Carranza and Josef Dodridge of Wisconsin.
