LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In a tightly played contest, the ninth-ranked Duke Blue Devils (7-1-6, 2-0-5 ACC) battled to a 1-1 draw against the No. 14 Louisville Cardinals (11-1-2, 4-1-2 ACC) on the road Friday evening at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
Duke jumped out to an early lead, scoring the team's second-quickest goal of the season, to cruise to a 1-0 lead at the half. Louisville answered back with a goal of its own in the 53rd minute of action to even the contest at one apiece.
From there it was a defensive battle, as neither team conceded a goal en route to the sixth tie of the season for the Blue Devils, and seventh overtime matchup of the campaign.
