DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University women’s basketball head coach Joanne P. McCallie announced Tuesday the addition of 6-2 forward Sofia Roma, who is transferring from Wagner College. Roma, who is from Richmond Hill, N.Y., will sit out the 2016-17 campaign due to NCAA transfer rules and have two years of eligibility remaining at Duke.
“Sofia is a fierce competitor and rebounder who is not afraid to dictate physical play,” commented McCallie. “She is a top student who is highly motivated to pursue challenging academics combined with terrific athletic opportunities as well. We are thrilled and excited to welcome Sofia to the Duke family.
