DURHAM, N.C.-- The 2015-16 season will bring about several rule changes to women’s basketball in an effort to increase the speed of the game and improve the fan experience at games and on television.
One of the biggest changes taking place this season is the shift from two, 20-minute halves to four, 10-minute quarters. This change puts women’s college basketball in line with FIBA’s international format of play.
With the change in the length and amount of periods, there will also be a change in bonus free throws following fouls.
