On July 26, some 10,000 athletes will sail along the Seine River in Paris, cheered by thousands while passing historic sites and monuments in one of the more unusual opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games.
For 20 Duke alumni, students and coaches who will participate in the games, it will be a moment they will always remember.
The athletes and coaches will represent 12 nations and teams in seven different sports. Fifteen Duke athletes participated in the 2020 Tokyo games (which took place in 2021 because of the pandemic), bringing home three gold medals and two silvers.
