The Atlantic Coast Conference announced their awards for the 2017 outdoor track and field season earlier today, and one Blue Devil earned a top award from the conference. Duke women’s thrower Katelyn Gochenour was named the Women’s Women’s ACC Freshman of the Year after a historic season.
Katelyn Gochenour is a talented javelin thrower out of Logan, Indiana. Before joining the Blue Devils, she was a four-time high school All-American and was the U20 National Champion in 2016. She excelled for Duke Track and Field this season, earning the bronze medal in women’s javelin at the ACC Outdoor Championships.
