DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men’s cross country team completed its 2019-20 recruiting class, adding two more signees with Rory Cavan and Sam Rivera.
Rory Cavan
Rory Cavan, a native of Glen Elyn, Ill., comes to Duke from Glenbard West High School. After an impressive start to the season, Cavan capped his senior cross country campaign with a fifth-place finish at the Illinois Class 3A State championship. Cavan owns personal-best times of 4:17.34 in the 1,600m, and 14:24.40 in the three-mile.
“Undefeated for the first half of the XC season racing the best in Illinois, Rory suffered a mid-October illness but still managed a strong fifth-place showing at the Illinois state meet,” Ogilvie said.
